Christmas Eve – Hawaii Style

As a vacation tradition, my parents keep the kids for one night while the parents enjoy a date night.  This year we had the pleasure of having our date night on Christmas Eve.  We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Tidepools restaurant.  We love this restaurant…so romantic.

After dinner, we listened to a Hawaiian singer play some Christmas songs on her guitar.  She got the audience involved and had us singing 12 Days of Christmas – Hawaiian style.  It was really festive.  Her version of Silent Night was gorgeous.  I was worried that I would not be able to feel the spirit of Christmas in Hawaii.  But Christmas Eve for me was filled with the magic and spirit of Christmas.  What I treasure most about Christmas time are those moments when the world slows down and I can listen to Christmas music and really contemplate and reflect on the birth and life of the Savior.  I definitely had one of those moments this very special Hawaiian Christmas Eve.
