Bonus Points...

Last night Jason convinced me to turn off Dancing With the Stars and come upstairs. I was not too thrilled about it, but quickly changed my attitude when I found this....

Followed by this....

What an amazing husband! He completely surprised me and brought home his massage table and set-up a personal in-room massage just for me. He is always happy to schedule me a massage at his office, but I rarely do it - just too busy. So, he brought the massage to me. Yes, I am a very lucky woman to be married to a chiropractor and massage therapist. Major bonus points to Jason!

It's Getting Warm!

It's getting warm and the kids are dying to play in the pool. Thank goodness we have a hot tub they can warm up in after their polar bear swims!

Daddy Time

Jason and Holden were sick on Saturday, so I took off with Dawson and Taya for 8 hours. What...8 hours? Yep - we went to t-ball, lunch, Dawson got his hair cut, Taya got new ballet shoes, we spent a whopping 3.5 hours at Walmart (I had a VERY long list) and went to Safeway. I had been home all week with a sick baby and after stopping nursing, I was ready to escape for a bit. At least I spent a small fortune on things we actually needed instead of hitting the mall!
I came home after being gone all day and I found Holden dressed like this... Jason was so proud. I walked in and started laughing. Can't you tell his dad dressed him - baseball cap, sports shirt, sports bib and jeans. Too Funny!

A lesson in being nice

Mom: "Do you think it’s nice or mean for mom and dad to take you to dinner?"

Dawson: "Nice"

Mom: "So how do you think you should act at dinner?"

Dawson: “Nice”

Mom: “When someone is nice to you, it’s good to be nice back, right?

Dawson: “Right”

Fast forward a few days later after I gave Dawson girl scout cookies:

Mom: “I love being around you and visiting with you Dawson”

Dawson: “I love the way you treat me because it gives me a really nice feeling... I love the way you talk to me... You were nice to get me girl scout cookies... I love your house... I love your dinner... Do you know that every day you go to the store, I love the things you buy... I love this house that you buyed me... And do you know what? I love you.”

Mom: “I love you buddy. Thanks for being such a nice boy. Are you ready for bed?”

Dawson: “If you want me to go to bed, I’m ready for bed…”

I just love Dawson. So Sweet! He really is a very toughtful and sweet boy. I am one lucky mom!

Funny Quotes

Dawson (as he is crying): "Why did Taya make me sick? That's mean."

Mom: "Taya, what did you learn in church today?"
Taya: "Heavenly Father made fish. And... (very excited now) Heavenly Father got swallowed by a whale!"

You're Going Down Jacille!

Anyone who knows me knows I like competition - I am in sales :). So, when my friend Jacille called recently and said she needed some motivation to loose the baby weight, I said "me too"! It's either loose the baby weight or buy a whole new wardrobe for the summer - and I am just too cheap and think my summer clothes are too cute to buy a new wardrobe. So...a contest has been formed. It's a race to loose 20 pounds and the looser has to treat both couples to a night out on the town.

We started Monday and I have been super good about my diet - I am in "the zone". I am definitely an all or nothing person. So, I either eat really healthy and count my calories or I eat whatever I want including tons of treats. I have to be in the right frame of mind to diet and I appreciate Jacille for helping me get there. I haven't quite jumped on the exercise bandwagon - it has been a hectic week. But, I plan to start that tomorrow.

I did have a set back this week when the nurse told me to increase my calories so I could try to get my milk supply back to nurse Holden (see my last post). I was eating more calories since I was nursing, but she said I needed even more to get my milk supply built up again. But, after a day or two of that and Holden still refusing to nurse, I cut out the extra calories. So, even though I am sad about stopping nursing - I am happy I get to really diet now and cut back my calories more. (Did I just say I was happy to diet??? Yeah Right!)

A Rough Week

This week has been tough - 2 sick kids, 1 sick baby, a ton of work and a baby who refuses to nurse. Stress! Holden started getting sick on Saturday and by Monday he refused to nurse. After a whole week of trying to pump (unsuccessfully), constantly trying to feed him, taking fenegreek, drinking a ton of water, taking him to the doctor, talking to nurses and crying a bit - I am finally coming to terms with the fact that Holden has quit on me.

Holden has been finicky about nursing for a while now, but we were doing ok and he would just refuse a feeding every now and again. I think this sickness put him over the edge and he will have nothing to do with it now. He just yanks his head back and will not even attempt to nurse. Both Dawson and Taya quit on me as well - but they were 10.5 and 9.5 months old. I love breastfeeding and really would like to make it to a year - but my babies keep quitting on me. I have been pretty sad about it all week and have been trying everything to get my milk supply back in case he started feeling better and changed his mind. But, he is not changing his mind and the milk is gone......The nurses all say self weaning is the best and to move on. So, I am trying to move on and look at the bright side. I got to nurse him for 8 months, which is great, and I will certainly be happy to have my body back...which leads me to my next post.

Dawson's First T-Ball Game

Dawson had his first t-ball game today with his team - the Sidewinders. Jerry Frost, from church, is his coach and does a great job! I am the team mom (don't ask me why I volunteer for these things with my busy schedule - I guess I must secretly crave a busy hectic schedule). Dawson was running the bases (which he still can't quite figure out which base is where) and he saw the ball rolling on the ground. Instead of continuing to run to 3rd base - he stopped and chased the ball with the opposing team into the outfield. That's our Dawson!

Davis Bed and Breakfast

The kids had an awesome vacation at Davis Bed and Breakfast (aka Grandma and Grandpa's House) while we were in Bend. They were so excited for their "vacation". They had been crossing the days off on the calendar leading up to it. My parents decided the kids had been looking forward to this so much, they had to step up their game. And that they did - gourmet breakfasts, cookie making, hot tub parties, dinner at Red Robin and ...... Six Flags Marine World - with three kids under 6 - you go Mom and Dad! The kids had a blast all weekend and did not mention us once. (Yes, this makes me thrilled!).

Bend Vacation

We had a great weekend get away to Bend, OR with my best friend Christie and her husband Ben and Ben's best friend Dain and his wife Karie. We had an amazing day snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor. It had snowed all week and dumped a lot of snow overnight - so the powder was awesome. We both had a blast! Jason hit a double black diamond expert run and some other crazy hard runs - he said he felt like he was in a snowboarding video game. I held my own but opted out when I saw the double black diamond "expert only - go down this hill only if you are OK with possible death" sign.
There was a lot of game playing....
Fun times running in the freezing cold in our swimsuits to the hot tub
Even Safeway had a cool fireplace - fancy!
We enjoyed the scenery and the snow.
Jason gave everyone adjustments before we left - isn't it great to know a chiropractor?
A great time with great friends and a nice little break from the kids. Don't worry - they didn't miss us one bit. They had a great vacation of their own. I'll post about that tommorrow :)

Trip to the Dentist

We had a very uneventful trip to the Dentist last week to get Dawson's tooth pulled. Thanks goodness he loves the dentist! The large needle and pliers did not phase him at all (I had to look away the whole time - ouch). He was just thrilled to play the x-box in the waiting room and go to Big Spoon yogurt.

Two down!

Dawson pulled out his second loose tooth tonight and was so excited! The dentist said he still has to extract at least one more tooth. He has two teeth growing in fast and furious and he has to take out some old ones to clear the way. We go in tomorrow. Dawson promises to be tough, especially since he has been bribed with ice cream if he is good.

Thanks Kids!

I love that Dawson and Taya let us sleep in on the weekends by playing nicely in the morning. They took it to a whole new level on Saturday when I finally rolled out of bed to find them in Holden's crib playing with him. Thanks Kids!

Working from Home

It's great to be a working mom, when you open your door to see this. One of the many perks of working from home!

Taya loves post-it notes. She is always stealing them from my office. I can't complain though when she writes me these sweet notes - MOM with a flower :)

Taya LOVES Holden

I just LOVE to watch Taya interact with Holden. She is so adorable with him. She grits her teeth at him and says "ohh baby, baby - you're so cute!". She loves to play with him and watch Baby Einstein movies with him. So precious. I just want to freeze time and have them never grow up. They have been especially adorable this week.
