When I emailed Dawson's teacher about his ditch day to go skiing, she emailed me back with this very sweet note:
"I hope your day was wonderful! I bet it was sunny up there! I have to tell you, Dawson has been so proud of the goal he has set for himself! He is a self-proclaimed "reading machine." AMAZING!!! That would not have been me at that age!!! You have an amazing boy, and I am so thankful he is in my life! Please tell Dawson I missed him, and can't wait to see him tomorrow!"
I think Dawson has my competitive sprit, which has really helped with his reading skills. He wakes up every morning at the crack of dawn and showers, dresses himself, eats breakfast and reads 10-20 books before I even get out of bed. He is pretty AMAZING! He wants to read a ton of books to get to the next level in his school and classroom reading programs. He loves the prizes :)
Dawson was recognized today with a special "Jaguar Principal's Club" award for good behavior where he gets to spend time with the principal. He was also voted by his peers a couple months ago as one of six classroom leaders that the other kids are supposed to look to and follow their behavior. Dawson is such a great example – we are so proud of him!
Happy first day of school!
