A lesson in being nice

Mom: "Do you think it’s nice or mean for mom and dad to take you to dinner?"

Dawson: "Nice"

Mom: "So how do you think you should act at dinner?"

Dawson: “Nice”

Mom: “When someone is nice to you, it’s good to be nice back, right?

Dawson: “Right”

Fast forward a few days later after I gave Dawson girl scout cookies:

Mom: “I love being around you and visiting with you Dawson”

Dawson: “I love the way you treat me because it gives me a really nice feeling... I love the way you talk to me... You were nice to get me girl scout cookies... I love your house... I love your dinner... Do you know that every day you go to the store, I love the things you buy... I love this house that you buyed me... And do you know what? I love you.”

Mom: “I love you buddy. Thanks for being such a nice boy. Are you ready for bed?”

Dawson: “If you want me to go to bed, I’m ready for bed…”

I just love Dawson. So Sweet! He really is a very toughtful and sweet boy. I am one lucky mom!

Kids can be so sweet sometimes that it makes it all worth it to be a mom. Sydney tells me all the time that I'm the best "maker" and the best "cooker." It makes me laugh.

hehe, I can just see you guys having this conversation. I think Dawson is still one of my favorites from when I taught primary.
