Halloween

We had a fun Halloween this year. My parents came over for Trick or Treating and homemade pizza (made by my sister - our nannie - not me! She makes awesome pizza). The kids had a blast trick or treating. They got a ton of candy. I never know what to do with all that candy. Do you just let them eat it for a week as much as they want until they are sick of it. Do you ration out a few pieces a day. I can't decide. I just let them eat a few pieces a day. But, if it lasts too long - we will have to give some away since I hate having candy in the house for too long. Dawson wanted to trick or treat with his neighbor friend, Kyle. But Taya could not keep up as the big kids ran from house to house. I tried to make Dawson stick with Taya, my mom and I - but that did not go over so well. He started crying saying he wanted to run with his friends. So, we had to split up. Divide and Conquer! Taya went on her own slow mellow trick or treating pace and Dawson ran with the big kids. Fun for all.

A friend of mine ha the "Great Pumpkin" come Halloween night and trade the kids candy for a nice toy. I was thinking when I have kids old enough for trick or treating I might let them keep like 10 pieces and then do the same with the rest. Just an idea. :)
